Welcome to the Whistler Fire Rescue Cup Tournament Website! The 5th Annual Whistler Fire Rescue Cup was held on May 16, 17, & 18 of 2007
All proceeds from this tournament went to the BC Professional Firefighters Burn Fund. Previous tournaments had raised over $10,000 for the Burn Fund and Burn Camp.
In 2007, Whistler hosted ten teams for a weekend of hockey, food and great fun. Spring in Whistler is all about great weather and great times. Highlights of the weekend included a minimum of three games (with a semi final match and final match), a fantastic steak BBQ at the world famous Longhorn Bar and Grill. On Friday and Saturday nights, two bars sponsored pub nights, with partial proceeds from the night going to the Burn Fund. As well, all weekend long, there was a BBQ and beer garden at the Meadow Park Sports Center.
All teams received a team gift, a discount card, and the chance to battle for the coveted Whistler Fire Rescue Cup, as well as the championship fire axe trophy for the winning team to keep. This weekend tournament is an exciting event, raising money for a great cause.
